Allure of Old Hong Kong Vol 3
The new work combines Hong Kong's vanishing life, street corners, craftsmanship and neon signs through unique nostalgic photographs and lighthearted text. This time, the author delves deeper into Hong Kong's historical archives, large and small, and redefines the history of the two historic buildings by excavating the "Hong Kong Story" of the Grade II historic building "35 Bonham Road" and the century-old mansion Alberose rented by the famous singer Mr. Hins Cheung.
The author also visited the outlying islands of Hong Kong and Kowloon, and included the vanishing neon signs, old signs, old shops, old handicrafts and old buildings in the new works (some of the topics included in the new book have been removed before they were published), "remembering" Hong Kong's glorious old days, and explaining in simple terms the origin of many interesting signboard variants and the evolution of tenement buildings.
