A Joyful Doctor
The world is beautiful, even in hospitals where life and death are parted from time to time. If you look closely, you will find joy and warmth.
When I was in middle school, a teacher played a game with us.
He picked up a piece of white paper with a small black dot on it.
He asked what we see. Nine out of ten replied, "Black dots."
"That's how we look at people," the teacher said earnestly.
"What I'm holding in my hand is a piece of white paper, it's just a small black dot. Then you ignore most of the white, and see only the black."
Failed an exam, lost your wallet, got fired from your boss,
argue with your lover, being betrayed by a friend, not winning the Mark Six lottery......
These are the causes of unhappiness, but if you open your eyes of the heart and see. They're just tiny black dots in a big blank sheet of paper. You still have a healthy body, a clear mind, caring family and friends, so many things to be happy about.
