Children's eyes old Hong Kong
The author of this book, Chen Huaying, lived in Hong Kong as a child, where the general public life is not wealthy. She grew up in a prefabricated house and public housing, and had to be in charge of the house at a young age, but like many children back then, their lives were not poor and boring, and they had another abundance of food, use, and play with the common people. The four seasons and festivals bring different experiences to the day. Overall, it's colorful and fun.
There are many poetic descriptions in the book, such as street food on a winter night, the fun of raising chickens, the closeness of girls and flowers, and the crisp sound of clogs in the rain. Chen Huaying's writing often carries feelings, and writes about the love of parents and sisters, which is naturally moving. The love for the city is even more encompassing in the book.
