The first series: Birth, Old Age, Sickness and Death talks about the thirst for life and the fear of death. For example, mothers are worried about whether their sick daughters can grow up healthily ("Life is like a tree"), couples who have survived life and death together ("Life and Death"), old husbands and wives who have walked through the years together ("Growing Old Together"), and Wenzhu ("Wenzhu"), which has strong vitality, and so on.
The second series: Joy, Anger and Sorrow, talks about people's feelings about life. For example, the philosophical reflections of the elderly couple on the ups and downs of life ("Ups and Downs"), the helplessness and tenacity of single mothers in the face of difficult situations ("Wood Bugs and Viruses"), and the rare happiness that delivery workers encounter during the Lunar New Year ("Fai Chun"), etc.
