The Polyphonic May Fourth: A Movement that Shaped Its Own Melody
This book is the culmination of historian Luo Zhitian's many years of research on May Fourth. The author returns to the noisy and complex historical scene to present a more live and real movement: in an era when the world is falling apart, all kinds of characters take the stage, and a variety of ideas grow. In the dialogue, analysis, wrestling, and conflict with each other, all kinds of waves and undercurrents are promoted; At the same time, it is also constantly transmitted, remembered, and interpreted, shaping our overall understanding of May Fourth and modern Chinese history.
Correspondingly, the author's understanding of May Fourth is not a freeze-frame picture, but a surging river of history. The book does not stop at the static investigation of the historical facts of May Fourth, but tries to capture the "polyphonic May Fourth" that self-shaped melody in the river of history that constantly collides, agitates and flows.
