Voices Echoed, Words Reimagined: Grand Masters of Language and Their Telling Stories
Come and ride in the car, eat, chat with the masters, and savor the feelings of life Glimpse the silhouette of the scholar outside the ivory tower...
The beginning of the twentieth century was the era of the reclamation of Chinese Chinese linguistics, led by Yuen Ren Chao and Fang-Kuei Li; After the middle of the century, there were many talents, such as Fa-kao Chou, Kun Chang, William Shiyuan Wang, Pang-hsin Ting and other gentlemen, each leading the way.
"I don't see people in the empty mountains, but I hear people's voices" - Since the 60s, Professor Samuel Cheung has had the opportunity to meet many masters, either to study or to work together, and to hear the voices of the gentlemen on different occasions, and to see their behavior and figures outside of their scholars.
Now, he has written down some impressive stories, anecdotes, and written traces; Latecomers can expect to meet the people from these small stories, and imagine what an exciting era it must have been.
