An Anthology of the History of Song-Yuan Academic Thought (Part II)
This book continues the discussion of the academic thought of the Northern Song Dynasty in the Collected Essays on the History of Academic Thought of the Song and Yuan Dynasties (Part I), extends the focus of the discussion to the Southern Song Dynasty, and comprehensively analyzes the influence of Zhu Xi's ideological system and the Zhu Zi school. Focusing on the Northern Song Dynasty in the historical period, the "Part I" systematically discusses important figures in the history of Song and Yuan thought, including Zhou Dunyi, Zhang Zai, Cheng Hao, Cheng Yi, Shao Yong, etc., as well as important philosophical issues brought out by philosophers such as Zhu Xi and Lu Jiuyuan.
The "Central Edition" continued to extend its focus to the Southern Song Dynasty, with Zhu Xi's ideological system as the core of the discussion. The first chapter begins with a general discussion of the historiography of the Song Dynasty; Chapters 2 to 4 discuss the systematic construction of Zhu Zi's theory of rational qi, the division of fields and its presuppositions about "being", the historical status and influence of Zhu Zi's scholarship, and the transformation of Zhu Zi's thought and the key to it. Chapter 5 compares the theories of Zhu Xi and Lu Jiuyuan and the historical significance behind their differences in the context of the rise of Xinxue, and Chapter 6 discusses the Huxiang School under the influence of the Zhuzi School.
