

Chinese Temples and Local Communities
This book is a collection of 13 papers by experts and scholars to explore the inheritance and evolution of Chinese temples in different regions, including Jiangnan (Jiangsu and Zhejiang), southern Fujian and Taiwan, Hong Kong, western Guangdong and Southeast Asia. Combining a comparative perspective and multiple approaches, this book explores the functions and roles of temples in society from the perspectives of fieldwork, inscriptions, rituals, traditional customs, and local society, covering not only all aspects of Chinese temples, but also a wide range of regions, comprehensively presenting the latest achievements in the study of Chinese temples, and allowing readers to grasp and compare the characteristics and development differences of temples in different Chinese regions.
